October 5th thru 11th (early arrival & staying later is welcome)
No reservations taken (will be easier to plan if you post your intentions here tho . . . )
No rally fee, just the $20/night campground fee that includes full hookups (elec, water, & sewer).
For meals, we will continue with the modified potluck - I'll have the main dish & everyone brings a side or a donation.

Theme is same as last time -- Eat & Greet

http://www.palmettocove.com/

Tentative Schedule:

Monday thru Friday noon - Wing it - depending on who is there & what 'we' want to do. There are many hiking trails & waterfalls in the area.
To see some of what is available:
http://www.sctrails.net/trails/MAPS/SCmap.html
(The Cove is in North West Greenville County & close to Northern Pickens county.)

Friday (10-9)
Supper - baked spaghetti (Kyle4501 will provide)

Saturday (10-10)
Breakfast - omelets in a bag
Lunch - hot dogs & hamburgers, chicken speedies (by Jack Hart Jr)
Supper - BBQ (Kyle4501 will provide the meat, Charles will properly prepare it for a real culinary treat)

Sunday (10-11)
Breakfast - biscuts & gravy, pastries
Lunch - leftovers

Post your intentions & what you wish to bring. . . .

I'd like to try something new this time with the meals, I'd like to share the hosting.
Past attendees know that I'm usually late, lunch at noon is served closer to 1. & the 3 o'clock ice cream social ended up being a milkshake mixer at 4:30. . . .
If someone wants to take the lead for a meal, that might get things closer to schedule. That lead only means working with what is already there, you won't have to buy anything, just grab a few friends to make sure things are ready when needed.
It's bound to be easy to improve upon my example of punctuality :-)

Kyle,

We may be able to make it over for a portion of the rally wed-sat. Are you going to bering one of your 4501's? It would be great to meet some more bus nuts any idea of turnout yet? My mom may be coming down through there at the same time in a stick and staple any problem if she tags along with us?

I talked to Gary LoBombard yesterday, I know they are planning to arrive on Wednesday, We are planning to arrive on Monday. Ned & Wilma Sanders are coming from BKs Rally and I think Don Fairchild is carevanning with them. Pretty sure JR & Terri Lynch are coming as well as Glen & Patsy Rice. Leroy & Lila Ashe live right around the corner, so they will probably be there also. Of course, Jack Hart and Charles will be cooking their delicious food and Kyle will be co-ordinating all this activity. Plus various other Nuts. Jack

Tim,
I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Anyone is welcome regardless of their RV - just as long as it is self contained (DHEC rule since Palmetto Cove doesn't have any bath houses). The park has ~150 sites with full hookups (water, sewer & 30A elec. There are even some 50A sites- on the left as you pull in the park.)
I'm still not ready to bring out one of my 4501s, but, a friend is gonna try to bring his if his work schedule allows.

They don't take reservations. With ~150 spaces, the park has NEVER been full- That is why they don't take reservations.

You won't have any problem getting your choice of spots - especially if you get there Tuesday or Wednesday.

Kyle or anyone else who has been there before. Would you recommend bringing other transportation with us or not? Looking at the site there appears to be plenty to do around the camp ground for hiking and place for the kids to ride bikes etc. without travel but my wife was tryng to decide if she should follow along in her explorer. Any opinions???

Tim,
It is up to you. There are no stores within walking distance, but if absolutely neccessary, you could borrow a vehicle or hitch a ride with someone. If you want to do a trip to the top of Ceasar's Head State Park of go to Table Rock State Park for the hiking trails, her Explorer would be helpful. Jack
