A sign has sprung up near the storage lot where I keep my bus offering both winterizing services and shrink-wrapping of RV's and boats. (Seriously!)

Any of you guys and gals had your bus shrink wrapped for the winter? I am having a hard time imagining the benefits, but I'm quite possibly missing something...

I would be concerned with one thing, it holding in moisture. I have had some experience with that in the concrete block industry, need to have holes for breathing. One more thing, if it's windy it could scuff the paint.

I noticed at a recent RV show that one company makes a TYVEK cover fitted to fit different rv's. Looked better than the house wrap.

Not that new. Have been able to get boats wrapped for years. About half the boats at our club that sat out last year were wrapped.

If the wrap Co. knows what they are doing they will put vents in too. Remember, water vapor is lighter than air and must be vented or otherwise taken care of.

If I was wrapping the bus I would want the roof vent tented and vented and left open.

If I'm not mistaken, on Prevosts the wrap was provided by
condom companies.

A cover from one of the cover mfg lets the coach breathe and will frequently have a zippered door so you can enter.

Shrink wrap is a throw away the real covers last for many years.

A look in the FMCA mag will locate any number of cover mfg.

I've been missing my wife for a couple of days. Do you think she was still on the bus when we shrink wrapped it? Should I cut it open and throw some food in?

a cover with a landscape printed on it for boon docking in your city back yard that doesn't permit buses or rv parking ;
but then why would one live or park in such a by-law banana place when they can drive elsewhere

Mike: What's a PITA?

Dougg: If it's properly shrink wrapped, the food inside the bus should keep fine. Why risk breaking the seal? Maybe give her a jingle on the CB, see if she needs air or anything?

Guys, I'm convinced. Why burn all this fuel traveling around chasing the sun? Why all that washing and scrubbing from being on the road! Just find a level spot and shrink wrap the old gal (guy, in my case). Outta stay clean and toasty warm.

it sounds like a lot of unnecessary garbage to throw away to me.
Why not just buy a very large tarp and use ratchet straps to tie it down?

I've been thinking the of greenhousing the buses since my first one 25 years back, have yet to do it it thought, a canadian thing maybe, to try and get more summer for growing... thing is girls only dress lightly in the natural warmth, so I am inclined to go along with edtheshawdoman on this one, but parking inside a greenhouse still has it's merritts in the cold climates, I have created some good strong lasting ones for pretty cheap with woven poly, seen re-bar used for a frame hopes with this stuff, to , plastic conduit on small ones, could work as a add on a room for long term boon docking perhaps.
