I've begun hanging at Ian's Faebook site a bit. Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no MCI group. I see Eagle groups and Government Motors Corp. groups but no MCI group. Whazzup? Does this mean discrimination is alive and well? Does this mean our superior but silent majority is being shunned and shat upon? Or does it simply mean we are too proud and independent to care? Or are we on there (somewhere) and I just missed it? Which is entirely possible. Nellie Wilson | ||

Nellie, many of us would like to follow your travels. In another thread (can't find it now) you mentioned starting a blog. I REALLY wish you would go the blog route rather than facebook. At blogspot.com you can quickly set up a blog that all of us can enjoy. They have an option that will let subscribers receive an email telling us you have updated your blog. This Facebook thing is a pain. None of us have gotten an invite by Ian (you were kind enough to give an invite to some). Like one person said, it is just another site we have to go to and if you don't post every day (sounds like you do not plan to), it becomes a waste of time that many of us don't have. Jim | ||

Rob, Ron, Glenn, Kevin, Jim, Lads, no fewer than 3 invites have been emailed to each of you in the past. I am certain that it has something to do with spam filters. When you join BNO Facebook, and you should Jim, simply go to your profile and get an invitation from Nellie to be her "friend", then select your blog settings to "follow" Nellie's blog. You will never miss another word Nellie says! For all, the reason I have made BNO Facebook a registration by invitation only site is to keep it private to all of us. I haven't intentionally tried to make it difficult to join. I'm just trying to keep spammers and rogue registrants out of our fun space. In light of missing a number of registrations in our normal processing, perhaps what I will do is open it up on weekends to everyone, including a message on this bbs about doing so, so that anyone feeling like they are being left out can jump in and join without the restriction of passing through an additional step. Ian, I forward each of my email boxes to both the main box and a backup mail account. Because of business reasons, I try my darnedest to keep all spam filters OFF. I delete spam (lots of it) manually. I may have deleted one from you, but I would not think I did it more than once. Try me again at jim at rvsafetystems dot com. Nellie: Thank you for helping. We're all part of this hobby. This web site - the BBS & Facebook features alike - are everyone's, not mine. You were not treading on mine or anyone's private territory. Again, thanks for your assistance. BW, you're right - anyone can invite anyone to join BNO Facebook. The invitation does not have to come from me. But it does have to come from someone already signed up. Currently that's 96 people! I've invited 260 others. Once registered, you can import your entire hotmail, msn, aol, gmail or yahoo with a few clicks of your mouse. You can also do it manually. Jim, I see Paul Hastings has invited you and I have just done the same, so the path should be cleared for you! Root around your various email folders and I'm sure one of us will show up. Welcome aboard!! (I fully appreciate the email settings dilemma, as I have to do the same, as you know!) Kevin, Peter: You two gentlemen have also now been invited.
