Anybody know how to contact Patrick Young? I've emailed and called him a number of times. Email returned and calls answered by message but not returned.

I need a radiator fan for a Cummins 220 turbo (pancake)and have pretty well run out of sources. Got any ideas?

The International fan I replace the original with ( cat crawled into the fan enclosure; started the engine, destroyed the cat and the fan...:-( ) doesn't do the job. On a 1500 mile trip to the Grand Canyon, temps would run up to 240 degrees (on the gauge). Never ran over 180 prior to decapitation.

Thanx in advance.

RCB -

I live about 5 miles from Patrick. I'll swing by and see if I can come up with a fan for you.

If not Patrick, I'll talk to my buddy at one of the local school district's garage and see what I can come up with.

Fresno's area code is 559, btw.

FWIW & HTH. .

Go to the CC Junkies board. They know where the Cummins parts are. Patrick hangs out there.

Jerry...., re the link.....haven't gone thru anything like this ritual since College Fraternity days.....good grief. :-)

How does one "cut thru the chaff"?

"Membership awaiting approval from Group Owner"??????

This is the umpteenth time, over the years, that I have attempted to "join" this group....too Hy-Tech for me I guess...cant get thru the maize.

Thanx much for the suggestion, however.

When I have problems like that I email the moderator separately informing them I am applying. these guys get tons of spam so you get lost in the spam, which I believe is full of cereal so yes you can't get through the maize.

Sorry for the trouble joining. I don't remember it being that way. It's just a typical Yahoo group. Is it Yahoo you're having trouble with or the Crown group itself? I know they would be happy to have you. It is the source of all things Crown.

YOu may not believe this, but twice (2 times) in the past 5 minutes, while attempting to respond on this site, Yahoo has "taken over " my computer...will shut me completely out of what I am working on and come up with something of their own.

A couple of minutes ago I was in Juno, reading an email and zappo....Juno gone, Yahoo in. I had typed several paragraphs on BNO, minimized to check if I could even access YAHOO and ZAP...the whole thing was gone and Yahoo made it's presence,,,VIA FIREFOX!

A few months ago, Yahoo, thru no effort of my own, attempted to take over when I logged in to Mozilla...I figured out how to get rid of it, only to have the same thing happen a few weeks later...and now, I can't get rid of them. Yahoo is now on my computer whether I like it or not; an entire line of "stuff" across the top of the page.

As I was attempting to "register" yesterday, they wouldn't let me go further unless I filled in the day, month AND year of my birth. It is not not that I so much am opposed to marketing data, but I do care about my personal life being spread around the world at some one else's discretion. Ian and I discussed that briefly in a private email about Facebook. If I wanted to write an autobiography, I suppose I would; meantime, that is my prerogative, not someone elses.

Having said all that :-( ..(sorry for the fume, folks) I just brought up "mail" on Yahoo and it says=== "Please be patient, it may take awhile to approve new members. Your moderators are busy people and will review your application as soon as we can." 'Scuse me?????

I can remember over the years having "problems" with Yahoo. In the early years (2000/2001), when I was really gung-ho on Crown stuff, I attempted to "register" on a couple of their discussion sites with similar results. In frustration (exasperation???) :-) ), I went on to other things.

All that being dumped, I am really appreciative of your effort and help, Jerry. If I can ever access the site, I will pursue the fan thing.

Thanx for "listenin'"...:-):-)

Yes, Yahoo is a pain in the ass. They track you and sell the information. You can uninstall their toolbar from the control panel in Windows. It's hard to do anything on the internet without somebody trying to give you another toolbar.
I'll ask about the fan for you and see what happens.

Hoji...gave up on them, too...several times over the years. Absolutely no comparison....would imagine many on this board agree with me on this one.

....assuming what you said.

different strokes.....as the saying goes.

I received this response from an investigation of my fan question (see above) by Mike DePew of Cummins Rocky Mountain.

*************************************************

Here are (3) three different Horton fan blades that could be installed on your Crown bus. I have also attached comments provided by Horton in regards to this application.

You have three choices, all of which should work.

982610202 – a 9 blade fan with a 3 inch pitch width. Use this one if there are any objects close to the front or back of the existing fan.

981610202 – a 9 blade fan with a 3.5 inch pitch width, will deliver slightly more air than the above but requires more space.

985610202 – a very aggressive 9 blade fan with a 3.5 inch pitch width that will deliver a lot more air than the current fan, but will use more power also.

Since you don’t have a fan clutch, it may be best to use either of the first two. I’m sure either will improve the cooling significantly.

**************************************************

He really stuck with my inquiry to him and I would recommend him to anyone who has "Cummins Issues"

As it turns out, Cummins has absolutely nothing to do with "add ons"...apparently each application of a Cummins engine is engineered by the manufacturer of the product in which the engine is used.....but Mike went the extra mile for me...and then some.

Thanx, Mike...and thanx Ian!!
