Ian - On the 'muffler' thread (you're responding to Gus) you say: "I have the settings on the board set so that an author can edit their own remarks... with simply "..." and the following message appears in the thread (Message edited by username on date of change)." Can you be more precise? I have often wanted to edit a typo - or some other dumb mistake - after posting. But what the heck are you talking about? What does "..." mean? And where does one type "..."? (whatever it means) Yes, I've seen posts with the message "(Message edited by username on date of change)" but how did the author recapture the post in the first place, then get it into an 'editable' form? Step by step, if you don't mind - just assume I'm an idiot. Thanks, Nellie Wilson |

Thomas, I thank you. I've tried that before but could never get it to work. Maybe I just waited too long? I'll give it another shot next time I mess up (shouldn't be too long). Nellie |

Nellie, If you use the BACK button, it can result in double posts, like what's happened above... Basically, open the thread again from the main page or whatever search you used to get to it... then click the paper/pencil next to the red "X", as you did... Then save. If done without using the browser BACK button, it won't result in a double post. -Mac |

Hi Nellie, I always suggest the "hit & miss" method of posting :-) However, it appears you have mastered the correct way to do it now! Ian www.busnut.com |

Ian - Thanks. As you've noticed, I'm a pretty good hit and misser... mostly misser. How you doin', buddy? Nellie |
