Fred
Does this pump suck all the trash from the bottom of the fuel tank? Can this be done with the tank full or does it have to be empty? What type of pump is it ? I have seen people drain and cut open diesel tanks clean then and reweld them back.Does the pump not stur everything up and cause more problems?
Please tell us more.

The pump will only take out what will make it thru a 1/4 piece of copper tubing.

The drill is to bend the pickup so it touches the bottom of the tank and gently "vacume" the bottom.

It will get the water , bugs , bugs residue , sand mud , small rust.

There will be some stirring up if you scrub hard , but most seems to fall down in a hour back to the bottom, where it can be caught.

Big flakes of rust , or crap from someone tossing junk in your tank would still need tank removal for pro cleaning.
