What materials do you use for your bus entrance stair treads? Would you do it different or are you satisfied with these materials?

I have just installed the plywood on my newly angled entrance stairs and am thinking about the final surface now.

Greg. I used 3/4" oak with about three coats of varnish. They are very nice and with a strip of anti-slip tape on each one they are safe. So easy to clean. Our bus is finished in oak so it all fits togather. We had carpet but it was unsatisfactory in our wet climate and became very matted down.
I made each step in one piece fitted fairly well and screwed them down with recessed screws and plugs so they can be removed if needed. I then installed home made base on the edges. I am a woodworker with a very good shop so it was easy with the tools that I have. Good luck to you and happy new year.Bill Butler in Wash. State
