I got an almost new, well little used Hurricane XL45 unit sometime back and am installing it now. Don't have the remote micro processor unit and I understand that the Hurricane is no longer made in favor of the Oasis unit. Is anyone using the Hurricane unit in your coach? If so please pm me if you would entertain some questions. Thanks... dg

My coach came with a Hurricane unit installed. It is the next size smaller. 35k BTU I believe. I toured the factory that made these units (and now make the Oasis). My unit is very well made and works fine but the heat exchanger is very small so the heater cycled quite frequently. The rep at the factory explained that is one reason they began the Oasis model.

I didn't want to change units so I installed a 6 gallon 120v.marine heat exchanger upstream in my heating system. I also directed engine coolant through the heat exchanger.

I have several baseboard heaters in the coach and the system works very well.
Mostly like an Aqua Hot except I still use a propane H.W. tank.

I have the remote unit and they still might be available at ITR industries in Richmond, B.C.

I have an Apollo Hydroheat system in our coach. Works great. Fulltiming in Colorado, we had 17 degrees a few nites last week and had no problem maintaining 78 degrees inside. Having said that, good insulation makes a big difference.

Okay, I'm off and running. With the help of fellow busnut CatSkinner I've fired up the Hurricane (He built an Oklahoma circuit board of time delay relays and assorted controls to cycle the boiler. We burned it for one hour on a quart of diesel.... honest injun!!! and raised 24 gallons of water a total of 75 degrees.... that's 14,400 btu's or 41.5% efficient use of the 34,675 btu's in a quart of diesel. Pictures of the setup to follow.
