i have no 12 volt inside the coach? the coach will start the house batteries are full and even seem to be getting a boiling sound so i added more distilled water to the [2nd time this month] none of the 12 volt lights fans or appliances seem to work... all the fuses and breakers seem to be fine, the wiring seems fine and the inverter is working. any ideas? we leave for Canada on Friday and tomorrow we need to take her to the hospital to be fitted for the child safety seat. |

4106... i am thinking there is a switch on the hart inverter that may need to be reset? otherwise i am lost. we were putting new lights in the rear above the bed but they never shorted and were capped off when this happend. i got home and my worker had the kitchen lights on but after i finished bathing the baby and getting him ready for bed i went out and all was dark. |

Tom check that breaker on the inverter, and breakers if it has some on the unit,or fuses. You may also check your breaker panel that is seperate from the bus circiuts. You may have a bad connection also coming from or to the inverter. Gomer |

You said, added water twice, check the voltage at battery. I recently killed, boiled , a battery and it went below 8V. Some pushin fuses can loosen. Battery cable corrosion? |

thanks everyone!!! it was the hart inverter.i gave it a long reset and everything seems to work. but the question is why am i using so much water in the house battries and why do i hear them boiling? i do have solar panels if that makes a difference. tom |

Tom take a volt meter and check your charge rate. You could be over charging or have a bad battery causing the overcharge. Get George Meyers electrical wiring on this web site, it covers all the charging senario's and spend some time in the archives. Check out Sean's blog/web site and others. |

So, Tom, it was the 120 volts that did not work? You said it waas the 12 volt stuff that didn't work. Resetting the inverter shouldn't have affected 12 volt fans & lights. |

Just lurking... ear to the ground and all that. Chalk it up to a perverse fascination with a bus going TO Canada this time of year. Lord 'a Mercy and Vaya con Dios. Best of luck, my friend! Nellie |

A regulator is an absolute must with any amount of solar panels! Without a regulator, solar panels will charge as long as it is light. Once the batteries are charged, the boiling starts, the acid (and the water) leave, and the batteries quit working... G |

These guys are expensive, but have a good selection... I'm sure you can find what you need cheaper elsewhere, but you can read about them here.... http://www.altestore.com/store/Charge-Controllers/Solar-Charge-Controllers/c892/ -Mac |
