My Sportscar has a later model tranny than the origional, I guess a "million " miles for Carry Coach in NYC airport traffic took its toll.
The replacement has the usual low pressure sender, but it has a second sensor , two slip on terminals .

Neutral ? Speedometer?

DA Book shows a dip stick with a hot/cold set of markings, the one I have has a single marking.

Could someone with a marked stick let me know the measurements from the top, so I can remark my stick?

TIA folks,

FF

FF I am assuming that you have an automatic. Is that right?

My 4905 dip stick only has a full line. My 4104 has full cold and full hot marks. Full hot is one inch above full cold. The 4905 tranny has a low oil pressure sensor, neutral or starter safety switch, and a back-up light switch. The B/U switch is an option. Mounts in passageway at end of reverse shift rod.

Probably is the neutral safety switch.

Thanks!

No,, this sportscar has the good old std 4 speed that requires double clutching , up and down.
Otherwise how would I stay over 9mpg ?

The "new" '56 Vl 100 will have a Kraut ZF HP 600 5 speed with .84 OD .

However when not towing we are hoping for 13mpg+ and even 15? in the flatlands.

Time will tell, although our luck in finding a suitable rear end with 2.6 to 2.9 ratio will be the key.

With a 2.6 , with disc brakes (lighter), and low resistance tires , there IS a chance , of course a Ser: 50 with 40 lbs of turbo and electric injection is also key factor..

Stay tuned!

FF, if you think the Spicer in our 66 4107 would be the same, or shed any light on your dip stick I will measure it. It's all of a mile and a half round trip. :-)

If the forecast stands up I might have to shovel snow to get the tranny door open!

Let me know.

Don Its OK , I would like the measurement , but its been this way a couple of years, so measure it at your leisure , after the Spring Thaw starts!
