Hi Guys, I'm going to raise my roof this spring and could use any info. on the gage and type of the siding on my Eagle 20. it appears to be aluminum with a coating on the exterior like a primer. Any other info. about the raising process would be helpful. Thanks in advance, Wayne |

I think wayne means the siding above the SST, which is aluminum. If you are going to overlap the existing aluminum with the new metal I would not use aluminum. I would (and did) use 18 gauge paint lock (also called paint grip and paint grade) steel. Reason being that the aluminum that you would have to use would be too thock and really show the seam due to the thickness. Also, there is little difference in weight when sized at the same strength but the steel is much cheaper and easier to work with. As far as roof raise would be easier to talk over the telephone really. I raised mine 8 1/2" and the process took 12 hours from start to finish. I think you have my phone info from emails we have exchanged so give me a buzz and I will walk you through it and send you a few descriptive pics. |
