My 4905 has a cruise control unit on it. The cruise controller has an external wheel about 1 1/2 inch in diameter on the side of it. The cable wraps around this and the other end of the cable assembly( about 3 1/2 feet long ) attaches to the air throttle lever on the governor cover. The idea is that the wheel rotates and the cable then pulls the throttle open. It doesn't work. Anybody have any idea as to what brand it might be, so I could find some info to fix it. Looks to have been on the coach for a few years. |

John Many years ago I had a similar type on a van. I don't see how the motor could pull on the air throttle lever as it is very hard to pull. The motor probably burned out from the strain. On my coach I used an ordinary cruise control and had it pull on the foot pedal as it is easy to pull. It worked great and then I switched to an electronic engine and cruise control is part of the electronics. Contact Pete Papas in FL as he sells a good cruise set up. Bill |

King's unit has a cable coming out of the large control box. This doesn't look like a box; more shaped like the vacuum type that GM used on cars in the seventies and eighties, but twice the size with the rotating wheel on the side. Not vacuum though. |
