OK We can put a man on the Moon but Fred says I got to spend 600.00 bucks to get an ac pump that will SUCK an 1 1/2" pipe up 14" for about 4'I'm hoping I didn't explain myself sufficiently enough in the opening post. | ||

search macerator pumps online. There are residential pumps around $300. But you will need to push to height then gravity drop not suck | ||

Done it with a Crown. If you want to avoid odor you have to be able to pump the tank empty and flush it clean and dry. A macerator will do that best if it is below the tank. If you fight gravity you may lose. There are macerator toilets and air flush that allow you to put the tank anywhere. If you suck from the tank, anything below the pump flows back into the tank. A tank under a Crown is typically exposed to more heat (and cold) than bay tanks. They can really smell in the summer! | ||

I have a DC portable macerator pump which I'm sure will pump 14", I know it has a tremendous pressure. Check with Camping World or just google macerator. | ||

Simplest way to solve the problem is to FEED the pump from the bottom of the tank. As long as its on the same or lower level it could be 10 ft away , given a good feed pipe. Plumbing sections in the box stores have lots of goodies . You do not want a single 90deg anywhere but 2x45 is much better. Search and you can find "sweeps" that have a gentle curve . Some will have an extra port that could be used for connecting a hose for flushing. "Pumps love to push they hate to suck." FF | ||

I forgot to mention that my portable macerator pump will empty my 100gal tank through a 1/2" or 5/8" garden hose in about 20 -30 min, I never actually timed it, but it is quick. | ||

Anyone have a similar sized tank and use the stock RV 3 inch hose want to time their dump? We only have about 50gal and were done in 3 to 5 min. Tieing up the common dump at many state parks or older RV parks for a half hour would require the camper departures to be scheduled over many days. The macerator RV dump seems best when visiting and dumping into a nearby septic clean out or a storm sewer.Or at home when using the camper as a cottage. FF | ||

Cool, Dallas... I put an inline "port" to my tank when I had the new system installed and have my own dumping station for when I need it. Never had to dump a full tank though & it has worried me about overloading the system. I'd sure have color coded hoses if I were you. A mix up of inhose and outhose could result in lonely roadtrips... | ||

We have a 100 gallon black/grey combo tank which empties by gravity in about 2-3 minutes. (Forst half WAY faster than last 1/4! Your home system should be able to handle at least 50 gal at a time. If not it needs work. (A bathtub holds 50 gal, a typical teen seems to take a 500 gal shower!) | ||

I never said I use the macerator pump for normal dumping. Give me a little credit!! I only use it when there is no dump station available like when I'm home and stuck with a full tank. My home eptic tank cleanout port is a good 50' from the closest place I can park the bus. Try to imagine 50' of 3" hose. It is always nice to know I have it as a backup when some odd dumping situation pops up. Get the picture now?? | ||

Try to imagine 50' of 3" hose. Check with Dupree, theirs is heavy duty and collapses to small length. They make the best dump valves , but are priced accordingly. FF | ||

It became worth it for me to install an 80' foot, 3" RV dump line to the "campsite" at our house this year. The campground that used to charge $5 to dump closed and the next closest, 20 miles away, wants $18 to dump. When you add the fee to the 6 gal of fuel, that's a $40 dump! | ||
