How much weight can you put in the second bay back on the left side (where A/C unit was)? Will it hold 900 lbs? 4106 Charlene |

Yes. Just balance the load so you don't exceed 12K on the front axle and 20K on the rear. (That's 6K per front tire, and 5K per rear, fyi.) Have you run your '06 across a set of scales? Might be a good idea. . . RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

Have heard from industry PROS that they would often toss an 8V71 into a GM bay. Don't know what you have in mind but a ton doesn't seem to be a big deal. FAST FRED |

Charlene, I just installed a used 7.5 KW Onan Quiet Diesel (420 lbs) generator in the compartment you are refering to by adding a bolted in framework to mount it on. It was a tight fit so you must be planning to put something quite heavy for its size in there, but I feel that if you build a strong enough frame you won't have a problem. By the way, I am really impressed with how quiet my generator is and with the features it has. Thanks, Sam |
