Help, I have to change engines in my MCI 5C and I
remember seeing plans on one of the bulletin boards a while back on how to weld up an engine
cradle. Does anyone have a copy of these plans?

No plans, but I have an already built cradle/dolly that is for an 8V71. It was explained to me that one jacks up the bus, rolls the cradle/dolly under the oil pan rails and lower the bus, having done the necessary disconnections. The whole unit simply rolls out the back. I don't know if it comes out with the engine/frame/cradle attached or not, I never used it.

An easy and cheap ocassional use engine cradle can be fabricated from wood platform with heavy steel (8 inch or thereabouts) castorand raised sides with steel top rails that insert in the bus frame rails. E-mail me if you want some pictures of the one we built. Our Courier 96 predated the MCI1.
