Definitely an icy tunnel !!!
A friend of mine sent me this video link of a tunnel in Russia that is definitely not bus friendly.... !!! Here is the video...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll9Z1whe6vg

Here is the background to the video...

The 3,150m long Lefortovo tunnel in Russia is nicknamed 'The Tunnel of Death'.
See for yourself why.
There is a river running over the tunnel, and
Water leaks through in some areas.
When the temperature reaches nearly 0°C
(like it does during the winter in Russia ),
The road freezes and becomes as slippery as can be.
The result is the attached videos which were taken apparently during a single
Day with the tunnel surveillance camera.
Congratulations to the dual-carriage bus driver - imagine the
Passengers in the back! What a ride!
The next time you complain about traffic, remember this
Video...Russian Engineering!

I had not seen it. That bus driver was doing some steering. LOL Believe I would tend to go a little slower if I thought there might be a leak that would freeze.

Tom, I saw it and still am amazed at it. It reminds me of what can happen in an unknown instant when driving a vehicle.
How are things with you??

things are fine here. a lot of snow on the ground. have to head back to niagara falls next month but it is cheaper to drive the honda and stay at the hampton inn for $60 then take the bus.

Then....there is the POSSIBILITY...that on the other side of the ledger that fuel, meals, etc. are as NOT much $$$ as staying at a "facility"...

After many years of doing this thing ...busing, motor homes, 5th wheels, tow behinds, including motorcycle "sleep in" trailers, and so on...we have proven over and over...there is "no better way:...and just two of us. Our way.

Do it your way :-) (Quote Fast Fred!)...perhaps a learning curve?? What's the old saying..."try it,you'll like it!"...:-) :-)

Could be !!???

in summer we would of done it but it gets real cold and icy, i have no real need to go slippen around in a 35 foot bus with a toad. fuel would be $500 and daily would be $19-$25 not to mention i have a battery problem on the house side and a leak in the propane line to the genni.the fuel for the pilot will be $100 or so and $69 a night at the hotel with free breakfast and wi-fi and nobody bitching at me to give the $200 for their hydro bill.
