Here's part of a little video taken on New Year's Eve at the rally in Arcadia... and many thanks to Tom Mason (White Eagle) for the loan of his camera.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klcoqHUCQjc

If you look closely, you'll see Jack & Paula, Tom & Fran, Marty (high steppin' to "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere") and some other 'nutters' whose names I can't recall (but which you probably will). And, of course, there's my trusty old bus in the background.

Got more footage but figured that 'New Year Moment' was what you'd most enjoy.

Plus, I took a lot of photos of fun times and beautiful buses - not so professional as Wendy's (great stuff, Wendy!) but I'll post some anyway. Man, these rigs make me feel like the poor cousin from the sticks.

Now I'm back at Jack's, eavesdropping on the BYOB discussions and instruction - learning a lot just by hanging out. Some pretty cool people here, and it's fun to put a face with familiar names on the board.

Well, I have much more to report but (yawn) it'll have to wait. Maybe tomorrow?

Miss you guys... wish you'd all been able to attend. It was wonderful!

Good job Nellie, have you found work singing yet or just the "freebies" in the low rent bus district? lol

Hi, you guys (Paul and John & Barb)!

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, it was lots of fun and incredibly well organized. Jack & Paula didn't miss a beat. Or if they did, it was invisible to me.

The people were terrific. Hadn't been for all those busses I woulda had a great time :-)... made me feel like the ugly duckling in a swan parade.

Seriously though, it was sure worth getting to - even if it did take a year. Well, 11 months to be exact.

Hey, J&B - actually got a couple things lined up but my bus went 'bloooey!' again... thought I'd get tons done here (I'm still at Jack's) but it's waaay to cold and windy to work outside. Just hope they'll wait for me to get mobile again. Geez, to go through all that and end up still fighting the weather?

Oh well, not nearly so bad as where I was, that's for sure.

And, actually, this low rent district :-) has kinda grown on me. Truly, they've treated me beautifully. A bunch of kind and generous people - what a blessing in this rather crass world we're living in.

I've got SO much I want to post... if I can just find the time... find the time... find the time...

Seems like the board's been quiet of late. Or just my imagination?

Thanks again guys. And thanks to whoever gave me the 5 stars! Fun to see.

Nellie

Nellie -

". . . made me feel like the ugly duckling in a swan parade."

Nah, not at all. 5Cs are charming in their own special way, and to have a parking place right up near the pavilion, well, SOMEBODY thought you were more than an ugly duckling!

So, what went "blooey"?

:-)

RJ & Rob,

Thanks for the sweet thoughts! I bitch a little but I love my modest rig, suits me fine!

Regarding the bus, on my way back from the rally, I got stuck at the gas station... she wouldn't air up! Damn! BTDT, in much colder weather though!

I called Jack and he came along with BK and Tom (white eagle) to rescue me. The three musketeers, after trying to solve the problem on the spot, decided to fill the system with air and BK drove it from the gas station to Jack's place. Gee, that bus was flying like a bullet down the road!

On the way back, she decided to build up air again... up to 160psi, what a girl, maniaco-depressive I think!!!

So...governor? Unloader valve? Trouble is the problem is intermittent.

Lucky me I'm in a safe place and Jack is going to check it out in the next couple of days.

I'm thinking of changing both items to make sure the problem gets solved... hopefully.

Rob-
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Hey, I just got a deal today to play once a week for the whole month of February, three hours on Saturday night, at a campground down in Homestead, trade for camping fee! That ought to be cool! Once I'm down there, I'll search for other gigs, see how it goes! Adventure!

I thank God everyday for being down here. Life is so much simple when winter means 2 or 3 nights of frost on the ground.

160 psi is a bunch! My cut off is around 120 psi. Sounds like a 20 buck governor replacement is in store. Jack will know what to do.

Paul
