Dear Fellow BusNuts, My experience with Polaroid TV is beyond doubt, the worst in my seventy years as a consumer. Not only is the product inferior, the warranty and service is equally bad. We bought two flat screens with DVD players built in. Never again! |

My experience with a Polaroid flat screen has been excellent. However I did not buy one with a built in DVD player. I figured that the DVD would be the first part to break down and stand-alone DVD players are not expensive and are easy to upgrade when technology changes. The flat screen TV itself should be compatible for years to come. FWIW DaveD |

I wouldn't ever buy a combo unit; I know that that DVD player will never last as long as the TV. Separate DVD units are real cheap these days...I mean cheap both ways. There is so little profit in these items anymore, they are almost throwaways. Sorry you got screwed. Maybe an extended warranty from Walmart or Best Buy might be the way to go; esp. if out on the road. |

Or do the Horrible Freight thing and just plan (in advance) to buy a new one when and if....you know what I mean, I'm sure... One gets what one pays for, usually....at least my experience. Having said that, we have a Magnavox purchased on sale...very small $$$ as I recall...25 YEARS ago...still going strong!! Use it in the kitchen, over the fridge morning and night...(no DVD, however). Since we live "on the border, it still gets plenty of Mexican stations with no HD converter box!!!!!...ayy yiii yiii (yes...we do have a converter for it!) Those were the days, as they say. RCB |

Remember too, that with most credit cards, your warrantee time is doubled when you use that cc for the purchase of stuff that likes to break. Been there/done that. Not with Polaroid though. Good luck... |

We have a Polaroid flat screen in our house that is about 2 years old. No problems so far and many of the busnuts visiting us have remarked about how grat the picture is on this TV. This is a 42" without a built in DVD player. Jack |

The problem with Polaroid if two fold, customer service is non-existent and they are now no longer making the tvs..I am a service provider for them, Rca, Vizio, Samsung, Hp, Sharp..... DO not buy Samsung, Poliroid, or vizio, or RCA.... Sharp and LG I have the absolute fewest service events over. |

Airless You didn't mention anything about Sony. What is your experience with them? I always thought that Samsung was an okay TV as well. Bill |
