Somebody at this site (in an earlier postt) recommended I contact TSI when I intend to buy an RTS, but as I read the Yahoo RTS busnut guys, there seems to be a little bit of complaining about TSI's pricing and honesty.

Also, there is a lot of complaining about the way TSI handles themselves at auction--apparantly outbidding everyone in the room.

What does this BusNut group think about doing business with TSI??

thanks again everyone.

Without bashing TSI I can advise you it's okay to visit them and look at their buses and prices. But keep looking before you buy. And the standard advice is to have an independent bus garage inspect any bus you are considering from top to bottom before you buy anything!

Can TSI have so much buying power as to outbid everyone on every auction in the country and corner the market on RTSs? Maybe just avoid big RTS auctions where TSI is likely to be?

I went up against TSI at Nationwide Auctions in Industry. First of all, there seems to be a "policy" with Nationwide that RTS's are saleable to "dealer's only". TSI is the only dealer that shows up, and he buys these things for $500.00 each. I talked to him before the auction about buying one from him off the auction lot after the auction. (No work, no towing, just sign the paperwork). He called me back and offered it to me for $14K. I bought an MC9 from somebody else.

I purchased (5) Orion 1's from TSI. I inspected many units and picked 5 of them. We negotiated a price that included some repairs, and shipping to the east. The units arrived on time, with all the required repairs completed as quoted
As with any purchases you should inspect, or have an inspection done, and make sure both parties are aware of what is expected.
I would buy from TSI again.

If you want a large fleet of RTS's to buy from get a hold of Disney. They have a bunch and sell them every now and then. They have ordered a bunch of new coaches and you might make a deal for yourself. Mike
