Hello all!! Need some help. Does anyone have,or know where to find, a pressure test procedure for the V730D tranny? I just installed mine with a 6V92TA engine and a Teal o-drive setup. It come out of a 82 Flex transit. Engine had a loose gear on a cam. It jumped time and broke the valves and pushed through the head. Well a rebuild later and the input shaft for the o-drive, welded at a shop-I could have done better with jb weld, broke so pull the tranny out. OK fixed again. Now after about 200 miles it goes about 40 miles then when it shifts down to second it won't go back into drive and stay there. I can shift back and forth 2nd to 3rd and sometimes it will go back in to drive. Using 30 weight delo 400 oil and all cooler and filter lines are the same size as on the flex. It don't feel as if it is slipping but it feels like the converter stall speed is high, don't know what that should be either. Open to all suggestions. It is full of oil and the temp runs about 160 in the pan and 210 converter out. By the way the Teal o-drive is so nice. Thanks olebusman

Pull the governor and clean; might have some debris in it. Hold so geared end is up. While watching inner spool valve through the slots in gov shaft, move both weights inward at the same time. The spool valve should move up and then go back down when you release weights. Also gov. screen may have dirt in it, but sounds more like dirt in gov. Stall speed of converter is supposed to be 1250 to 1350 RPM. Main oil pressure in direct is 150psi; in reverse 250psi...both at 700 rpm.You could also check the governor screen. Look at end of tranny just above pan on valve body. There are two hex plugs- one on left and one on the right. The left one is for main pressure and also access to the governor screen. The other plug is for reverse pressure. Did you do the Overdrive yourself or was it already installed in the transmission? You should find a service manual on EBay BTW.

John
Glad to see you have it going again. Didn't realize it was engine problems to this degree.
Call me (# in profile) and I will see if I can send you the info on the transmission testing. I have all the books.
Bill
