Hi Guys, I need to take a quick trip(approximately 450 miles), but I develop an air leak on the right tag axle tire. I have the spare tire on but the tire size is 12.75 X 22.5. The rest of the tires are 12R x 22.5 My question is can I safely take the trip with a wider tire?

As long as they set at the same height unloaded and do not rub each other when on duals, you can then use different width tires.

Even would go futher and say that if the tire in question IS on the tag axle, then the diameter ALSO can be slightly off. Have a nice trip.

12.75 tires are a speed rated tire and should not be run over 55 MPH. They are built for transit intercity use. They have extra thick side walls and will not dissipate the heat build up in highway use.

Thank you Earl;

Bobbo; check on your big fat spare on the tag axle and see if it has lettering that reads "Do not exceed 55 mph." If soossss, keep the mph down.

SOME big fat tires like maybe yours were speed limited---MOST were NOT. Make sure you can enjoy your trip. Thank you Earl for the slip. Henry
