I know there are a few folks out there from CT. I have been trying to figure out what kind of buses CT Transit uses, and just seem to come up empty handed. I know my buses pretty well, but this one is really stumping me! Every time I get near one up close, I can find no name plate anywhere on the bus!! Have any of you CT folks seen the CT Transit 91xx or 96xx series in New Haven (or maybe Hartford)? There's a drawing of one on their home page (not a photo) if anyone wants to take a look. http://www.cttransit.com/ |

Hi Marc: I went to the site & unfortunately what we are looking at is a line drawing of a bus. I have never seen a bus on the road where the front tires look to be about 50% bigger than the rears. CT Transit is in the process of replacing their GM Classics which were a fishbowl bottom with a redesigned top, along with front & rear end caps. For the life of me, I forget who the new buses are coming from, but that comes with age. The windshields are similar to GM or other manufacturers, but I don't believe I ever saw a Classic had the A/C condensor hanging on top of the roof as pictured. I think some artist with a vivid imagination, produced for their website, a picture of a bus & we just looked at it. Just my opinion!!!! LUKE at US COACH |

Try this link to Transit sales. I think that this may be the coach that you are looking at from the artist rendition that is on the web page you mention. http://www.transitsales.com/inventory/GMC/GMC_Classic/GMC40_Classic.html Best of luck. |

Luke Just to let you know that Pioneer Valley Transit was running a fleet of Grummans. I think Ct got some too. Peter Pan was looking at them for a while but high maintance chased them away. Mike |
