I stumbled across a flexible today that is complete from what I can tell but in a sad state of disrepair. What year and model is this, I am not up on the Flexibles but it looks sort like the restored Starliner that lives not far from me in Nashville NC (IIRC) Here are a few pictures, maybe someone knows what year this is. Bill that looks like one that had a 6-71 installed in it. I remember when I lived in West Virginia and sang with a Gospel Group there, we were going into Tenn one evening and here came this flex and passed us like we were sitting still running about 75 on I-81. Got on the ole CB radio and we stopped at a truck stop and checked it out. WOW what a job!! Check and see if it has the 6-71 engine with a 10 speed in it if you can. AWSOME Gomer | ||

It's got a inspection sticker in the window that says it was last on the road in 1989. I looked around it and it's got sleeping bunks that I can see through an open window in the back. I'll try to get some more info on it if I can. | ||

I sent an e-mail off to this site. http://www.flxibleowners.org/frs/rescue.htm I would really be interested in finding out what year it is and maybe they can persuade the current owner to part with it. Bill, Bob Rowsell at http://www.hbindustries.us/ in El Cajon, CA is the Flxible Guru. He restored a bunch of them. He is a great guy, very easy to work with and I'm sure he will be glad to give you all the info you need. He is restoring one for his own use. | ||

Looking at the coach my guess is you will have to pull the sides and repair the frame. Like an Eagle these are rust prone below the skin and a load !!! of work to get structurally sounf once again. We added at least 2000 lbs of steel to our VL , over many months and are still finding more spots to repair . Its got to be a "labor of love" hobby,not just a desire for a cheap bus. FF | ||

That's a 47- early 50's Clipper, the added snout on the tail indicates a major modification in cooling setup and/or engine [originally likely a Buick straight 8] the rust can be dealt with if it's not into the actual frame, especially spring mounts, but the broken windshields just about make it a write off, they're scarce to non-existent Bill |
