I am looking at a '47 PD3751. Very, very straight body and tin work with original lighting, and even original A/C and motor still in. Desert car with little rust or corrosion. What were the bad points with them? Did they have bulkhead cracking issues? Any fan issues? It has an Air-o-Matic steering assist conversion. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. |

2 or 3? i would double that amount! Tim is the man. He will answer any of your questions. Careful tho, he talked us into getting one! he will probably see your post shortly. Tim told me that you should check the rivet roof line at the rear door. Steering and kingpins as the front axle is hard to find one in good shape. Make sure the shift linkage is tight. The best thing is that these buses were built to be repaired. Most everything can be taken apart and repaired. Try to find out what rear end ratio it has as the top speed on todays hiways can be an issue. good luck they can be a great bus |

It has an Air-o-Matic steering assist conversion. Air o Matic is still in business so if parts should ever be needed , no problem. Many folks prefer the AoM to fulltime power steering as it can be shut off 95% of the time and the bus will wander less on the highway. The downside is the gearing is not stepped up ,(as on a full time power box) so in parking in an RV place it will be more (but easy ) turns lock to lock . Be sure to get DA Book, and since its been in a desert sand land , grease everything TWICE , at least. Good Luck FF |

Tim once told me to look for cracking in the body above the rear wheel well. The telltale was cracking below the window above the rear wheel. There was a GM fix for that which was a huge steel strap bolted fore and aft above the axle. The really neat things are the art deco rear end and the steering column shifter! Also, no air bags to worry about. I tried very hard to find one but they are not numerous in good condition. (Message edited by gusc on February 13, 2010) |

Hey Tim, yes I did get it. We are in Mexico for a week, then going back up to retrieve and ship it. I will have a ton of questions for you. Hope you are patient. All manuals came with it. |
