Part of my family is very excited to get a 1979 MC-9 (First of all, before I ask my questions, Esther wanted me to thank those of you who answered her questions about the difference between driving an MC-9 and GM4108, and about insullating ceilings. She got some very good sound advice, and she appreciates it very much.) I, the Mom, would like to hear from any happy MC-9 owners. I don't think I have read many good things about them (MC-9's, not their owners) and I might feel better about this whole thing if some of them told me what they like about them and why. I am not technically minded, so please explain what you have to say in terms that "Mom" can understand. If you hate your MC-9, I probably better hear from you too, please, just be gentle with me, O.K? Thank You, The Mom |

Esther: I have a 1979 MC9, after having owned an MC7 for several years. We have just completed the conversion process and love it. It is a big improvement over the '7 and drives more like a big SUV than an aircraft carrier like the '7 did. It's easy to work on, and easy to get worked on if you have a problem on the road, since they are the most common type out there. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact me off list. BTW, "the Mom" in my family likes it too. Randy Schlotthauer |

Esther: I'm the "mom" and I love my MC-9. It's got more headroom because it's not as rounded as the 7s or 8s. Like Randy said, it's the most popular bus out there and you can get it serviced anywhere at any time. We've had three professional converters tell us that we got the best of the best because we bought a 9. What else can I say? What's not to like? And Esther, it's easier to drive than my husband's pick-up. |
