I am trying to remove unwanted wires in my 1979 mci 9
The wiring that goes to the speakers and the wiring for the coach inside lights(indirect, reading, night lights) goes into two wiring harnesses that disapears into a channel in the upper front left hand corner of the bus above the driver.
The corner is covered by fiberglass and the fiberglass tucks behind the windshield gasket.
Has any one taken this harness out to remove the wires no longer needed and how did you do it
thanks

It's not that bad if the front interior cap is off and there unhooked(cut) and if the junction box below has been cleared of any unwanted wires so you can pull them down. I took all of the wires out and am using Fred Hobe extention cord wiring method to rewire the bus. Good luck, there is a lot of stuff to take out.

CW, I have the exact same scenario on my MC 7, and I bought the maintenance book from
http://www.coachinfo.com/Manuals/Coach/MCI/MCI.html. There are wiring diagrams that show you the source of the wires at the panels. I haven't actually DONE it yet, but I intend to just cut and remove these unwanted wires until they are not accessable ( ei dissapear in the framework ).
There are also some unwanted circuits comming from the rear panel to the old bathroom location. I just cut everything (found a live circuit in the bathroom even when the main power switch was off). Soon, I too will be following the schematics to ensure I have no live wires in these locations.
The good thing for you, is the MC9 has the manuals on CD, and you get more info for the buck so to speak, if you choose to buy the manual.
