I talked to a Canadian bus owner some time back and I remember him telling me that tires were a lot cheaper in Canada. Anyone have any experience with that?

Depends on what and where.

I've bought new 11R24.5 takeoffs for US100.00. I've paid US$106.00 for 15" trailer tires, which is the same as they are in the US.

Taxes can add considerable to the cost in Canada and tax on auto parts is not refundable.

You don't say where in Canada. If you are considering the Edmonton area, I may be able to help.

Most of the time prices for goods in Canada are the same as the US, but the exchange makes them cost 2/3.

However, there are some fantastic sales if you catch them right.

If you go to Edmonton take a big wallet or leave the wife at home! Actually I enjoy shopping there as much as the wife. Hate to shop in the US.

Hope this helps. Joe

Joe I bought 2 BFGoodrich SST237 in Bridgewater
Nova Scotia this past summer for around 400 ea
mounted with new innernuts. That was Canadian money. With the exchange comes to around 200
American. Get your tax form stamped at the border
when you re-enter USA and Canada sends your tax money back in American dollars. 06Bill 4106-2741

Refunds on taxes depend on the Province. Niagra Tire and Battery in Ontario gave me great prices and should be up on the latest tax rules.
