I am always hopeful when I click on the flea market posts there might be something interesting there. With all these members there has to be some good stuff out there (furniture, appliances, etc.) that members no longer need or want. Where is everyone's junk.....one man's junk is anothers new washer/dryer lol!

Not necessarily the best source......or the best deal.

Dunno, RC, my entire bus (yup, the bus too) and virtually everything I've put into it came from ebay. There's a difference between just pushing "bid" and doing your research, laying low until a great deal comes around, and nailing it. If you aren't in a hurry, MANY very excellent deals are had, like my Onan for instance, when the seller is too dumb to list it properly. My genset was listed simply as "marquis generator" and I ended up getting a 1 year old 7.5kw unit with less than 20 hours on it for less than half of the going used price. Had the guy simply stuck the two letters "RV" in the title I'd have never had a chance.
For me, Ebay is the absolutely best thing that has ever happened for my bus conversion, from one end to the other. And another great thing about ebay, so far I've bought a lot of goodies that I ended up not using, and to date actually made money by reselling them on ebay...every time. Need an electric carpet staple gun? Buy it on ebay for less than a week's rental, use it for 6 months, then sell it at a profit. That's how almost all of my specialty tools have been obtained, from my paint sprayer to the power planer I did my floors with.

Ebay's real cool if you use it properly..

Cheers
Gary

Hi Robin,

The items for sale here only remain on the board for about 2 months (not an arbitrary time limit - this was determined by asking the board users a few years ago).

Some great bargains come around from time to time. Winter is our slow season. Hang in there... something will eventually command your attention or tweak your imagination.

Regards,

Robin, you can also post a "Wanted" ad-- a lot of people have stuff laying around but don't bother to advertise it for sale (like me).

My experience with using the Flea Market is that most bus nuts buy parts only when they have to. See my ad for MCI brake blocks at about 30% of replacement cost and you have to assume that all the people who have a bus that these brakes would fit think that they will never need them.
