I recently had our holding tank out. The sending unit in the fuel tank for the fuel gauge on the dash was bad. The access panel for the fuel tank is the front wall of the plumbing bay so our holding tank had to come out.

There were numerous spin off projects that resulted from this job.

The air dump for the holding tank was one of them.

Back in the 70's we used a couple of Winne's for touring short tracks in the south. For long otr stints, we discovered that a macerator pump plumbed into the exhaust works well too. Also keeps tailgaters at bay.

"So if you hit the switch while you are driving down the road......."

That would be known as a highway valve :-)

Anyone here recall the incident in Chicago a couple of years back?
A Band Bus was crossing one of those steel grate roadway bridges, thinking the river below was as good a place to dump the holding tank as any they threw the switch. At that EXACT moment an open top tour boat was directly in the line of fire and those tourists got a load they dint pay for OR expect. Here's the story..

I believe that was perfected many years back by the hound drivers.

The same electrical solonoids are also used combined with a water valve instead of an air valve for fresh water/low point drains for winterizing and for grey water bypass all at the flick of a switch.

George our camper also has electronic odor control. When it's on it sends current thru the liquid in the holding tank for about 15 min. of each hour. This kills the bacteria by electrocution and with no bacteria no odor. That is combined with a marine masserator toilet.

This is all stuff I never had on other campers. I am not the builder just the rebuilder and if it is in there I want it to work.

I really enjoy these little tidbits in this bus.

Winebago used to have a waste tank into the exhaust, injection system.
