I want to replace my muffler and pipes and need a current supplier. I have a 1976 4108 GMC. The muffler is mounted vertically next to the rear compartment door at the rear drivers side corner. It was updated years ago. The muffler was originally located between the rear wheels. I do not think the modification was custom. I think it was common for a different model GMC than what I have but I do not know which model. Have a great day and thank you for the help.

Geo,

I believe that some early 4108s & 4905s came that way. That system was first used on the 4106.

Luke at US Coach should be able to supply what you need.

Hi Gomer,

Hope all is well with you.

The old generator is fine. I've got it set up as back up for the house. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but have no doubt that it will perform when needed.

Geo: Sorry for the Hijack....blame it on Gomer LOL.

FYI seems most folks just buy parts from a muffler supply place. No real reason to buy big $$ on something as generic as a muffler unless the installation is super complicated. personally I have not built mufflers and pipes for a bus but i have done them for cars, usually I buy a bunch of pieces from a store, then maybe go to a muffler garage for a few custom bends/expansions etc..

I agree with Patrick, stock muffler prices take your breath away.

I bought two from JCW for my 4104 for about half the cost of new ones and fabricated the connections.

The JCW muffler construction is far superior to the OEM ones which are designed to rust out on the outside ends pointed right at the under side of the bedroom.
