Has anyone tried these wall mount units that vent outside through 2 hoses? Any opinions? http://kingersons.com/highseer-minipackaged-12k.htm |

First thing that I'd ask is would it stand up to the stresses (vibration, "road shocks", etc) of use in a bus. (I'm not saying that it wouldn't, I would just like some assurance - mfr or private owner's experience - that it would live in a bus). Looks good, though, doesn't it? And at 10 AMPs on 110v. |

Look closely at their pictures! The reason it runs with "...no copper tubing between units..." is because the outside unit bolts on the outside of the "wall," directly outside of the indoor unit! Then there's the "18 inch drain tube" on the outside? We're going to run it down the side of the bus and into the wheel well? 10 Amps at 120 Volts is 12 EER, which isn't bad, IF that occurs at 95 degrees outdoor. Unfortunately they mention SEER, which is measured at 82 degrees outdoor, which means a lot higher amp draw as the outdoor temp increases. Too wide for everybody with a 102, $1300+ for 12,000 BTU, versus less than a grand for a rooftop with 13,500 or 15,000 BTU? Its maximum outdoor working temperature is 99 degrees, which makes is worthless in the Southwest. G |
