The stock sliders can have stops removed and will open about 50% of the hole size. Very inexpensive to find a few old frames & modify them to hold screening. For moderate climates the Awning windows are best , and many are locally made , so can be created to fit into your stock frames. There are Mfg that make fancy windows for the stock openings , but there mostly a waste of cash as the doubble paine is only R1.5 , not much considering the window sizes in most coaches. The use of a slightly larger heater or Air cond solves any R hassles . Or the use of insulated shades with R7 does the trick for the AK skiers , dual awnings works for the folks that park near Hell. My MC-8 has sliding windows on the passenger side, fixed windows on the drivers side. Did these ever leave the factory equipped this way? Dave D |

Bruce.. I dont use any air unless its really bad..so i knocked off the stops for the windows. Im working on an idea for the screens. Ive played with several ideas...still trying to perfect it |

My Crown ex-schoolie has 25 windows all of which slide up and down. About 90% open when down. Do not have the $budjet$ nor really want to reskin the old girl, thus the plan is to window.... ....tint all of 'em and to use custom ($cheap$) bug netting curtains to keep the bugs, birds... ... bats and snakes out. AC/apu for really hot days only. Fans work wonders. Good luck. |

A lot (if not most or all) of the "newer" coaches have non-opening windows, which is fine for hauling passengers but not good for a bus conversion. If you end up with one of these you have to buy aftermarket windows that open. --Geoff '82 RTS CA (with factory slider windows) |

My schoolie's windows opened.......unfortunately, they also rattled, squeaked, and leaked. They've been removed & paneled over (not a total reskin), & I've added RV windows, which do open & have screens. |
