Your looking for a rebuild kit. Call your local DD dealer for a price. You can see an aftermarket rebuild kit that sells for $1740,(pistons, liners, gaskets and bearings) at dieselpro.com. You can do most of the work yourself, but you will need some specialty tools to align the blower, time the injectors, etc. I put things togather and call out the DD mechanic for the tricky stuff. Your putting alot of money into old technology. Personally I would look for used first and consider changing to an inline engine if I had a decent budget. If you don't have water in the oil, you probably won't notice alot of difference from worn out to rebuilt. I run them until they puke unless they need something like an injector changed. |
