I found a starter in a 6V92 Flexible. Will it work in a 6V92 Eagle. He says the Flex is 12 volt. Is the engine rotation the same? thanx tony |

Maybe, maybe not. If you can, take a look at the transmission that's attached to the Flx. If it's a V-730, then it's a LH engine, and the starter won't work in your Eagle. If the trans is a Voith or a VR-731, then you're OK. If there's no transmission attached, you'll need the serial number of the Flx's 6V92 to confirm it's rotation with a DDA dealer. (Might be a good idea to do this anyway. . .) HTH, RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

If the starter is on or off the engine or in bus, connect battery to starter and check its rotation. You obviously know the rotation of yours. Check all dimensions and gear size. Check battery connections for your voltage if you can, or look for data info in battery box if bus is available. Take starter to a starter generator repair shop and they can check it all for you - rotation, voltage and condition via a load test. They also can reverse it for you if needed. Larry |
