i think they could of just done it the normal way? but i love those lifts!! i want a set of those. we did fine a broken tail pipe for the generator and one member under the fuel tank that was rusted out but everything else looked good. is it normal to charge for each guy working on it at full price per hour?

Yep! Both guys are on the payroll and WE have to foot the bill. They probably make about 12-15 and hour and the rest goes for TAXES,Comp,Insurance[?] and then uncle sam gets some more. I love America tho at least we are still free.

every decade a little less free. lets not kid ourselves we need to be wary of the encroaching socialists. Oh sorry Ian I forgot the no politics policy. in an auto shop that would not fly but then dealers charge you hours and pay the techs minutes.

...not unless each mechanic came with a 20 foot bay (and the equipment tools that came with it) as that is what you are paying for, not just the technician. Although 80 is a very reasonable shop rate for buses in my part of the world, $160 a bit high , even a 40 foot bus bay with to fully equipped & skilled journeymen.

they were to backwoods sister sleeping goons that studied how to do it for 20 min before jumping in and doing it. on a 4106 do you really need to take that top plate off? i think i could of done it in an hour if i had had the lift.

Clint I was referring to Dealerships, which incidentally could not care less if you rolled up in your own snap-on tool truck were armed with an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things with an internal combustion engine. in fact they would prefer the backwoods sister sleeping goons that Thomas was referring to because if they can be trained to perform repetitive procedures like a chimpanzee then they can work at a dealership and get paid chimp change. real techs like the guy I described above are no longer needed according to the bean counters. I you want to try to find those guys with the tools and the brains you do have to locate the independents in the 20 foot and larger bays that you mentioned and proceed with caution because the ratio of ham fisted goons to knowledgeable techs WITH MORALS are 100 to 1, and I think I am being conservative. P.S I speak from personal and painful experience on this point

Come to NC. David at davids coach would probaly put them on and furnish them cheaper than you personally could buy them.

He replaced my turbo with the one that was on the coach, not the one detroit wanted to sell me.

uncle ned: gabriel gave me 2 set's of shocks for free the first was the wrong number and fits flex busses the second fit fine. i was expecting that it would of been real easy to do the shocks but they had no idea what they were doing. i had no idea i was paying for both men to do a one man job.
