I would love to go camping with you and to meet you when you get it done. If you ever attend a rally you may be overwhelmed at the attention, you have more intrest in your project than you may realize. Anybody with a bus that can reasonably navigate a computer knows of you. Originally did you go into this with any time frame or are you just enjoying the project as you go? You will have to get an H-3 and do it when you are done. |

Could you tell why you decided to add the stainless to the floor like you have done? How will you finish off the floor? |

I appreaciate the nice comments thanks! When I started this project, I had been reading and watching several others and noticed the level of craftsmanship they were employing on their projects! They were very good, at what they were doing! I just wanted to see if I could do the same! I've been trained as an electrician turned instrument technician, so the electrical part was going to be easy! Coming from a racing background the body and chassis work were a passion! I'm extremely slow or maybe even lazy at times, but there isn't a deadline and that I really like! I'm in a forced medical retirement, I'd rather still be working but my health isn't what it should be. When I discovered Bus Nuts and other forums online, I was hooked! About that stainless on the floor, during the original tearout there was stainless sheet covering the area of the rear drive and tag wheels, which my impression was designed by Prevost to protect that area from the elements, a wooden floor would not last long in that environment, so during my replacement I went back with what Prevost used, which seems like a excellant idea! On top of the stainless sheet will be two layers of 1/2" plywood, then ceramic tile finishing off the bathroom and carpet in the bedroom, the tile will also extend to the kitchen area! I'm planning on having the exterior minus the paint finished by the end of this May! There are only two more doors to fabricate. The new engine is sitting in my shop, Jasper did a really nice job there they even put it on a dyno and sent me the sheets of the results! It's a 8V92TA! I'm pretty confident that this project will finish this year (crossing my fingers)! Again thanks for the kind words, it has been a long 5 years at times! Actually, Pat...I'm personally happy to hear it has been "5 years"......was really hoping you weren't one of those who had the whole thing done in a month or so.... ...there have been...those! However, makes my 9 years seem awfully long. Hope you are getting a chance to "enjoy " it from time to time. That is foremost for us! RCB |

RC, 20 years ago I probably could have finished this in less than a year! But those days are long gone!.........The only use I get is when I take lunch and sit in the pilots seat....I've stayed away from the rally's on purpose they would have driven me wild wanting to get this thing finished.....! |
