Have a small Honey Do project for the bride and need a potentiometer.

Silly me , I went to Radio Shack and all they sell is complete stuff , almost nothing to actually build with.

So I need an on line source for parts that doesn't charge an arm & a leg for "shipping & handling".

The actual need is for a 5K ohm potentiometer with 5W of power ability.

Am building a 12v electric spinning wheel for "she who must be obeyed" , so she can spin while sailing.

There is loads of room in the bus for a spinning wheel , since the seats are on a track, but the boat is way tioo tiny.

Any suggestions? Thanks,

FF

So "she who must be obeyed" doesn't use the same PC that you post from I assume,
otherwise I would guess that you won't be posting here as much as we are accustomed to?
Or maybe Spinning is so all time consuming that she has no time or desire to indulge in the Internet Web Tubes thingy.

Here's a free thought...
put pedals on an alternator
that charges the battery on a cordless drill
that has a Flxible driveshaft connected to the Spinning wheel
and tell her she doing her part for energy conservation,
get her a tree to hug,
Bonsai will meet the space requirement
and YOU are in like Flynn my friend!

As a pro author with 7 or 8 books so far , her computer is a "business expense", mine is her 6 year old discarded portable.

Thanks for the info guys ,

My favorite store for 3 decades!

Anyone starting a conversion might want to take a couple of hours there.

OK, the wires don't pass the cheapo house code self approved by cheapo RV assemblers ,
but multi- strand wire tinned with SILVER , does pass the FF test.

Copper terminal ends and sometimes computer slides that can hold a diesel noisemaker , that slide out on twin rails , so you can get behind the noisemaker are nice too.

Lots of "stuff" that I have no idea what it does , but if you like to rummage its better than Mickey Land on a FL visit.
