Before I even attempt to list this thing anywhere, I would like some advice from all you guys. I don't hardly post here at all but I am always here, I'm a lurker! I was diagnosed with stage 3-b non-small cell lung cancer back year ago April. Went thru all the radiation and Chemo treatments, and we had some success in reducing the size of the tumor and we were put in the follow-up scans every three month's and lets monitor it mode. So not to bad! I also have COPD so I have no air to speak of and exertion effects me greatly, can't do much. Well last week we had a set back, seems I have fluid infusion in the pleura around my lung caused by a recurrence of the cancer. Now the bus, she is a very nice 4104 that hasn't had a lot of use, she isn't stuck in the ground she gets stored in a heated garage. She needs to be driven which I don't have the strength for, Power assist steering works but leaks, still to hard on me. I have all the parts for a power steering conversion still sitting in a box, purchased it last fall(gotta think positive). I also have sitting on the self(waiting)New Shocks, Bushing, brake chamber diaphragms. Rebuilt starter. rebuilt air-compressor. Baggage door hinges(rubber). Plus many, many other misc. original parts, some panels, some gages, dash harness. I am sure I am forgetting many, they do drug me up ya know! It has a three stage battery charger, chargeing all battery banks seperatly, start, house. Sliding house battery tray. Electrical water heater, its a short squaty house type running off 110v. It has a spin on oil filter and all the brand new parts for converting the fuel filter's to spin on. The floor plan has two jacknive coach's across from each other in the front, next is a large dinett, the a full kitchen you can see in pictures, I will attach pictures and will get many mor if you guuys tell me we have shot to sell in todays market, or is it going to be one of the problems a I leave my poor bride to deal with? I am not even worried about price, needs a good home. needs to be used and don't make me fell as though I was hit over the head for her. We would also consider trades of any kind, she could deal with a chevy! Thanks in advance for any input you can give. Dave H DAVID HANCOCK'S 4104 FOR SALE

Very nice looking coach. Sorry to hear about your health problems. Can't afford to buy the coach, but do know I see guys trying to sell rougher/uglier ones for between $65-85K....Doesn't mean I think they"ll ever get anything near that, just there are a couple of '04s online in that price range. This will make a reasonable price look like a steal to someone. Best bet would be ebay, there may be a dreamer out t here with some coin who will like what a clean rig it seems to be. Best of luck to you and your loved ones, Patrick. |

David when you embark on your next journey / adventure please do not forget those whom you have obviously touched here, their out pouring of saddened concern points to the fact that you must be a quality human being. the dropping of the veils over our eyes, and the lifting of the limitations of time and physicality is nothing to be saddened over, only the physical proximity of loved ones is missed, but only for a while then you will be at the door for them. as those whom you haven't seen for a while will be there waiting for you. give great love and drink in and receive great love. and when its time jump in to the fountain from where it all flows. and where we renew. all the best hopes, love, and dreams. Dave. Peace. |

I just want to thank everyone for there kind and inspirational thoughts and comments. Means a lot to a person to know there are so many people in the world who still care about other people, that the don't even know. Reaffirms the belief that people are good at heart, no matter what we get blasted with from the Media every day. Keep smiling! Dave H |

Was just talking to my little boy of 8 today about some personal safety issues vis a vis strangers etc.. and was able to say to him in all honesty that most people are good and that there are really only a very few bad apples out there. The Universe is a wonderful gift. |

Dave...keep us "posted" on your personal situation...prayer changes things...and there a bunch of us out here who know that intervention can mean a lot....in a number of ways. Besides, we are "family" here, you know (Psalm 105:4) Let us know about the coach pursuits, as well. There is someone out there that needs a "home" to travel in...perhaps a missionary, or charitable cause. And, if you don't especially need the cash, it is all tax deductible! God Bless you...and know that we are praying for you...and your family! RCB |

I also would like to offer our prayers on your behalf. Life sometimes can taste like lemons, hoping for lemonade to make you smile. Trust you will find a good home for your 4104, she's a beaut! |

Dave - I was diagnosed with 3c/4 Colon cancer three and a half years ago. They didn't give me a prognosis that was very pleasant, and the fact that I'm here, able to type this now, seems to amaze them. (I didn't do chemo or radiation, I took another route...) I sold my MC9 three and a half years back, since I wanted to purge anything that might be a burden for my wife. I did exactly what you're trying to do now... I had a small "Class B" RV, a GMC van with a 350 complete with bath, etc.. and felt that would do if we wanted to take a trip. I have since sold it and bought a larger E350 diesel to eventually convert, and/or tow a trailer. I wish I had the bus back... I busted my groin stripping it out, taking out that stupid toilet, sealing windows and insulating it. It was painted and ready for the inside work, and I gave it away. And yeah, it seemed like a great idea at the time. We can't predict the future David... We can hope, or we can resolve to give up plans and set a different course proactively... You have to do what's best for you, but don't make rash moves unless you think it through deeply. I wish I didn't sell the bus, but I really didn't (and don't) feel I have the time left to "waste" spending it on things that would take me away from my wife.... like restoring a bus. And, like you, I don't always have the energy to spare, to be able to accomplish the things I did before. Sell it if you have to..... But if there's any possible way that you can see using it for a trip someplace in the future, re-think selling it. A small trailer can be an easier way, but it'll be hard to replace the dream. Take care. . (Message edited by john_mc9 on May 16, 2010) |

*frowns* I've kindof lurked around over the last weeks, but haven't done a lot of reading, just quick skims over post titles and such just to kindof "keep up"... Since I wasn't looking for a bus to buy, I'd kindof neglected this thread until I saw the one from my buddy Jorge marked "Please read"... It'd been a few days since I scanned though, so... I'm arriving a little... tardy. Dave... I don't know if we've ever spoken on the phone, or even exchanged emails... My own health problems have limited my memory capacity and such... But I certainly understand loss and uncertainty of the future... I'm only 35 years old, but I honestly feel closer to 60... Both in mind and body... Who knows? Maybe my spirit is much, much older... I'm not a Christian. I've said that before... I don't actively practice any religion, but I'm closer to Pagan or Wiccan than anything else... I don't really "pray" in the classical sense, but I do keep people in my thoughts that are in a tough situation and need a shoulder to lean on. I don't have much to offer you, but if you ever want someone to talk to or vent to... I'd be more than happy to be that someone, as would many other people here I'm sure. I've always been told to forget the past and look towards the future when in tough situations... But that's never worked for me, personally... I've been to more psychiatrists and psychologists in my life than I can count, and they've always ultimately told me the same thing. Find someone you can talk to, that you can trust and just... Talk. I'm not trying to give advice... I'm not trying to tell you what you should, or shouldn't do... I can only tell you what's worked for me... At least to the point of keeping myself from taking a header off a bridge. I'm certainly not the sanest individual you'll ever come across... I'm pretty wacky and off the wall most days. As for your bus... As John MC9 pointed out... You never know what the future holds... and he regrets getting rid of his bus... Like him, your bus is a source of enjoyment for you, a source of pride... Don't let that go because there's a chance you won't pull through this... In fact, it just might be the boost you need to do what seems impossible right now. Keep the bus. Will it to someone if you must if the unthinkable happens... But don't get rid of the bus because it feels like an after-life obligation. She's been through a lot and like others here, you would very likely regret getting rid of her if you pull through this... Tomorrow may not come... There's no guarantees in life... It's taken me a lot of heartache to finally realize life for what it is... An adventure just waiting for you to walk the path. Stop worrying about what might happen tomorrow... Jump into the bus with your family and go for a much needed vacation somewhere... I've never personally seen it, but I hear the Grand Canyon is the place to go. ;) Anyway... We're all here for ya bud.. I'm sure any one of us would love to talk to you and meet you. Feel free to call me and talk any time, day or night! My number is 318/-840/-9254. My email is wiredfreak(AT)gmail(DOT)com. If you'd like an IM account to chat on, just send me a message with the service you use... I'd be happy to add you to my contact list. I'll keep you and yours in my thoughts. *hugs* -Mac |
