Is there a "Kelly blue book" for a Bus?
I am looking at a 1998 Dina with only 101556 ( with doc's) miles on it. It has a DD 60 /385 HP and 6 speed auto. Seems to be in good shape but whats it worth?
Thanks Mike

Sort of. . .

There is a company out of McMinnville, OR, that publishes "The Bus Book", which reports KBB-type pricing. Subscription only, but you might be able to wrangle a sample copy. . . Do a Google search to find them.

The monthly industry mag National Bus Trader listes average asking prices every other month in it's "Roundup" column. www.busmag.com will get a subscription on it's way to your mailbox.

Dina's aren't the most popular coach, and some folk have repeated alleged horror stories, additional factors to consider.

Due to current conditions, it's a BUYER's market out there - lots of good stuff at "fire sale" prices. Very easy to buy - very hard to sell a mistake.

Do your homework, offer 1/3rd of what's being asked, negotiate from there.

Hi Mike,

NBT currently lists a 1998 Viaggio 1000 for between $145,000. and $149,000. There are no other Dina models listed.

Before you work with NBT's prices, though, be aware that they list many caveats with which you should familiarize yourself.

The big caveat with NBT is that they only list "asking" prices, and all they list is what is advertised in their magazine.

Friend was looking at 2 '96's in LA couple of weeks ago, same drive trains, moderately rough bodies, more miles. They were asking 65 and 70k, and dealing down to low to mid 50's.

Three basic facts: Your money is getting interest, not much granted but some.
Their "Bus" to be polite is dropping like a rock.
There are a dozen financial and governmental pressures killing the bus market.
The bad part is its only going to get better for YOU.

Hauseman recently and may still have a brand new Dina for less than $130K.

There are a couple converted Dinas in Converted Coach Club (CVC) and the owners are very happy with them.

I sure would not be afraid of one.
