Does anyone know if there is a hot water tank available anywhere (electric) that I could mount on it's side. Standard residential size would be perfect. (I plan on mounting it in the center aisle and leveling the floor) |

Electric hot water heaters usually have 2 elements and use 1 leg of 240 for each side. The problem is that the hot water stratifies and in the vertical position is designed with a dip tube on the cold water inlet to put the cold water at the bottom. It is a simple matter to remove the dip tube and disconnect one element. Mount the heater so the element is accessible in case you run it dry and have to replace it. =o) I've thought about doing this with a small electric under the floor of my Flx New Look as an add-on to the puny 11 gal. propane job I'm installing now. |

Before you try mounting a tank on its side that was designed to be upright check around. I know that there were horizontal mount water heaters in Brazil and I assume that there is such a thing available here in the U.S.A. I would suggest that you check with a plumber or a plumbing supply to find out who manufactures such a thing. |
