Was at the Ritchie auction today and 4104 number 2220 got sold for 2250 canucky bucks. Camperized and somewhat neglected by her previous owner. That 671 ran well but allmost drowned out by the 6kw aircooled Onan. Went home with a 8kw Marathon generator equipped with 3 cyl isuzu engine for less than a grand. It was a good day!!!!! Joe. |

I have duel exhaust on my 671 and yes it can be loud... This is the one complaint by my neighbors as I usually get in sometime between midnight and 3am... I creep in at an idle as much as possible. Nice buy on the Generator, wish I could convert to a diesel gen for that price... . |

I have an Onan 6kw Diesel air cooled generator (DJB) and I can second the notion that it is loud. I have it in a plywood enclosure with 1" leaded sound insulation and you can still hear it out in the street when running (it's out my Mom's house for standby power). I originally bought it in the '80s for power on my truck, but was too noisy. It is one of the few even firing two cylinders that I've come across (both pistons go up and down at the same time). Good Luck, TomC |

That two cyl firing together threw me for a while, hadn't seen that before!! I got rid of mine when I couldn't stand the noise and vibes any longer. My Honda EV6010 is much more civilized. |
