A friend in the security survilence business recently outfitted me with a back-up system using very good, though standard type, equipment. When I look at my monitor over my head the image is reversed. What appears to be on the right is really on the left. I know someone has dealt with this problem before. What do I have to modify, camera or monitor? And how do I do it. The "B" camera input is going to used for a VCR (13" color security monitor). What will happen to its capability for entertainment use? Thanks in advance. Preacher Dave |

Hello Scott and Frank; Thanks for the info on reversing my free 9 inch B&W TV soossss I can use it as a back up wiggit. Scott: what was the problem? Seems your first try would still work in Australia. |

David, If you reverse the wires inside your monitor as Frank suggested, it will obviously make anything in the way of entertainment reversed as well. Also, there's more than two wires in there to choose from, ther's the vertical wires as well as the horizontal ones, and you need to swap only the horizontal ones. I'd suggest a double pole double throw switch be installed in your yoke wires so you can switch it either way. This assumes, of course, that you're using a CRT based monitor. If you've got an LCD monitor like me-you're out of luck- unless specifically manufactured with a reversing switch, ther's no way to reverse LCD's. (well, you could buy an electronic "Video Mirror" from Colorado Video for about a grand to reverse the image electronically...) Fortunately It's not hard to get used to a backwards image for backing up... Cheers Gary |
