This is the new "wear your seatbelt" promo from the UK.

It's being hailed across the world as a "beautiful" commercial. And now the video has gone "viral", which means it has become so popular with the general public that people are forwarding it to friends/family on their own so quickly that it has spread all over the world in a very short time.

That's a good one Pete! I got into that habit many years ago and never leave home without it! It's amazing how many people you hear about that don't wear one, it's a life saver.

Point well made!

I was driving down the Interstate at the speed limit about 3 years ago. A drunk, being chased by the police, running about 110-115 MPH rear ended me and knocked me off the road. My car rolled over (side to side) at least twice and flipped end over end. The investigating officers measured the mark in the ditch made by sliding on the roof of my car at about 68 feet long. I walked away with little injury.

ALWAYS wear that belt.

Luck may still have alot to do with it. 3 of us walked away with scratches and not a seatbelt in site. lost control on a curve, skid sideways till the car hit the shoulder. car dug in and flipped on its top. then slid on its top till it hit a huge oak tree.
I believe when God say's it's time... then it's time.

wreck

I've seen the high speed videos of what happens to the people inside the car during a crash. . . .
That was enough to convince me that proper use of a seatbelt is better than not. (That & the time the clutch pushed me across the armoralled slick seat as I was turning left onto a busy street - later use of the seatbelt kept the clutch from pushing me up the seat too - '69 SS chevelle :-) )

I don't have the statistics, but I believe the instances of proper seatbelt use causing more harm than if not used are the rare exception.

Buckle up.

Needs a similar message getting to all the motorbike riders I see riding without a helmet. Maybe the bandannas they wear have magic properties.

Why is it that is a law to ride a bike with a helment and go back to the house and get on your motor cycle and leave your helment at home!! Duh what part of stupid do you not understand? If I can ride a MOTOR CYCLE without a helment why can't I ride my bike around the block? What am I missing??

Simple , children usually don't vote,

Geezers on Harleys do.

Remember way back when there were muffler laws?

more HOG (Harley Old Guys) "rolling thunder" at work.

Sometimes, the mass of the helment causes neck injuries, but with new materials, helments don't weigh as much, so that is less a problem than it used to be.
Then, there is the arguement that kids bodies can heal when an old farts body can't, so they figgure to let the older riders stay off life support . . . .
Bikes usually don't go fast enough for body trauma to be as big a factor as head injuries - motor bikes speed potential may raise body trauma risk significantly above head injuries.

Based on my driving record, I figgure that my driving skills are better than most, but they are still severely lacking, so I'm going to hedge my bets whenever I can. . . . steel cage, seatbelts, airbags, ABS, etc
Besides, it isn't MY actions that concern me most - it is those with out a brain that give me pause.

Motorcycle riders without helmets are called organ donors. We need those body parts let em ride.
