Does anyone know anything about the MC9's available thru ABC Bus Company? All I know is that they have a bunch of them and they are quite inexpensively priced.

Mark: you can e-mail me directly. It seems Ian doesn't want this discussed on HIS board, since I posted yesterday and it has now been EDITED (DELETED).
Bill.

Hi Mark,

I believe that the buses you are looking for are at, or coming to, ABC's New Jersey site.

You can contact them in Camden at 1.800.222.2873

As you may know, ABC Bus Companies, Inc. has 6 full service facilities in California, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas and, of course, New Jersey.

Their Companies include ABC Coach, ABC Bus Sales, ABC Financial and International Coach Parts.

Further details of the bus sale of 1982 to 1988 MCI MC-9's (priced from $8,000.) and 1989 Eagle Model 20's (priced from $15,000.) can be found on
ABC's web site by clicking here.

Mark, please let me know if your question of 02/28/01 06:19 am requires further clarification.

Warmest regards,

Ian Giffin

Ian, just curious. Is there any particular reason my posting was deleted. You can give way more info than was in my posting. Or is it just your policy?
I'm just asking.
Regards in return, Bill.

Ian, I just read your e-mail to me. I will lay out what I have witnessed personally.
Several days ago, I replied to Mark's posting for info about ABC Bus. At that time there were three other responses plus mine, for a total of five. When I returned the next day to see if Mark posted any other Q's, there was only his original posting. There were NO responses, not mine or any of the other three.
I may not be the brightest bulb in the string, but I'm sure only the owner/moderator can edit the boards content(yes/no?).
If, as you say, you were not party to the undoing, then I whole heartedly appologize for the accusation.
So, if not you, who?
Also, please disregard the above posting, it was written before I checked my inbox.
Again, regards. Bill.

Hi Bill,

Go to THE BOARD and click on Interior dimensions for MC9 and tell me if that is the response thread to which you refer.

OK, now that we're all done with THAT part of this discussion, can anyone tell me what kind of life those MC9's had in New Jersey? I know that they followed a "state maintenance schedule", but that really means nothing to me. Our local municipalities run equipment into the ground on a regular basis. I know, I work for one of them! Are they abused or were they treated fairly well?

I have 2 friends who flew to NJ from N.Calif.3 wks. ago to buy 2 of the better 20's They are being sold in groups of 10-20 at a time with a new batch being released about every 2 weeks. U can buy from the group an individual bus. They did not buy them and it is only speculation as to why not, except that one of them, reportedly with 87k on a rebuilt engine, would not start with 3 charges of the air tank and a whole can of sure-shot--reason enough not to spend $18k.The other one, at $22K,had a fresh engine and trans. rebuild, a no damage body, fairly fresh 55mph tires, corroded aluminum wheels, and mostly non-working instruments. It seems as though it was all that was advertised, so I and others can't figure why he didn't buy it. Had my bride been more cooperative, I would have been there and, yes,I would have! They conveyed that some of the other Eagles then there were somewhat ragged. The MCIs that are now for sale, as low as $4k, are non-ops with various problems, with some partially canibalized. The '88 9's will come for sale late in the spring and early summer, after all the eagles are gone. If u watched the Christy Whitman confirmation hearings, she discussed the reason for selling off so many 2 strokers---NJ must reduce it's overall emissions levels---so EPA is giving them a bundle to go to Nat.gas fleet.
