Only read this if you don't want to get burned by a freeloader.
I had a great bus on ebay, it sold two times??
The first buyer
got called to active duty. I didn't hold him to the contract. The second time it was sold to a freeloader named (wyldu) which is his ebay name. I emailed him time and time again. I called and called, no luck even right after the auction.
watch out for this !!!!!!

One good thing came out of all this, I meant a bus nut who came down to look at my coach. A fantastic guy, the kind you enjoy meeting. I hope to meet more like Tim Bookmiller.
enjoy your summer :)

Greg: One of the pitfalls of E-Bay that u were forwarned about some weeks ago. Non-paying bidders is their single largest complaint among sellers and thus far they have taken NO measures to stop it. If u follow the bus listings, as I did in the past, u will be able to spot bidders that are only interested in "playing auction", and there are many of them on there. Your bad experience here confirms my opinion that E-bay is a good place to advertise; not necessarily so good for selling. Hopefully, your listing will catch the attention of a serious minded buyer that will contact u on the side and negotiate a deal, if u re-list.

But Ebay pitfalls are no real difference to those with published ads. You get those who call on your published ad and never show up or spend hours driving and inspecting the bus and go away to decide or leave a deposit and never come back. Then you are stuck with half a deal which holds you legally unless you have a contract with a pay in full date. I know of all these and more problems with other means of selling.

Just know the medium that you are selling in and you will be okay.

Peter.

Bummer!
it happens all the time.
We discovered our bus on eBay.
The eBay auction ended with someone else making the high bid. I sent a note to the seller offering to pickup the pieces if the deal fell thru. A couple of days later the seller emailed back with a phone number, the eBay deal had gone sour.
better luck next time!

I have had several instances such as you describe, had the bus for sale on e-bay and he did all he coudl to ge tthe thing then came, out and decided it wasnt what i said it, was and so far he has been the only person that has had any negative remarks, and now everyone takes there word as gold, and hes Pi$$ed at me because he spent money on a plane ticket and now is bashing my stuff i have for sale, well karma will take care of itself, and the old adage goes to show Money talks And bull$hit walks, dont be discourged,

3rd times a charm Greg. Good luck. Good chance that a serious buyer will e-mail or call more than once with that one question he forgot to ask.

Your experience is why I recommend taking lots, and lots and lots of good quality pictures. Don't settle for the 6 pics eBay allows you. Get a web site (freebie or whatever) and host as many pics as you can. Then describe every detail of the bus. Write paragraphs, not sentences. Also, spell out your terms detail. For vehicles, I require a deposit very quickly (72 hours). Then they only get the deposit back if they show up for inspection and find that something was missrepresented. But there should be nothing misrepresented if you have lots of pictures and descriptions. . . The more info they have when placing a bid, the less excuses they have to back out of a deal. Half the battle in finding good buyers, is creating good listings and having clearly defined payment terms.

Well I think that we the people that buy all this stuff from the Freeloaders should start posting there name on this board so everyone can see It and not buy from them anymore, I bought a Oil Cooler Gasket set from (JPRES@FRONTIERNET.NET
he goes by the name Peter) he was supposed to send me a Gasket set out In Feb. said he had sent It. and he finely did send one the last of march and It was broke, I contacted him and he was supposed to send another out but here it Is the last of April and I have not seen It yet, It seems that the Freeloaders are the ones that make E-Bay a Business and are on there all the time. The way I look at this If we dont stop It who will.

There are a lot of good vendors on Ebay. Always look at the feedback and if there is any negative, look at the tone of the feedback and the response. I never deal with any seller who has negative feed back to which he gives sarcastic or "trust me" responses. Buyers who are jerks often show it in the feedback they post, making it clear the seller is not really the problem.

This should be listed on the Ebay on BNO BBS along with known problem buyers and sellers. Word from someone we know on the BNO BBS is far more valuable than the unknowns giving feedback.
