I recently removed the ac and engine from my 4104 and now I am pumping antifreeze out one of the fittings. Were the cooling systems for the ac engine and the DD connected? If so is there a return that must be connected or can I just block off the line that is losing the anti-freeze? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes the engine was tied to the main heater loop. They did that so that when the bus stopped they only had to check/add coolant at the rear radiator. Saved time & one less thing to check! Pretty nifty, huh?

Obviously, the big main heater core is tied into that system too.

You can seal off any of them but I would leave at least the front defroster functional. You need that 'cause cold air sneaks in at the front of these old birds. Good heat there makes the difference between comfort & misery! Been there, done it, ain't gonna be there again!
