I am considering a Isuzu 10 KW Diesel Generator, anyone have an opinion? Come on, don't be shy! I also like the Kubota 10 kW Diesel Generator but it is a bit more expensive ($5750 v $4850). See the Isuzu at http://www.generatorquotes.com/order/1000TS.asp?page=1000TS see the Kubota at http://www.generatorquotes.com/order/1000TS.asp?page=1000TS I have heard a bit of good talk about Central Maine Diesel (generatorquotes.com), anyone heard bad stuff? Isuzu is an excellent engine. They have made diesels since WWI. I would prefer one to a Kubota. You need to also compare the generator itself. |

Isuzu vehicles were popular when I was in Japan in 65 and 66. There were a lot of them on the road. Their gensets and Kubota's both have the best warranties I can find. 5 yr 5000 hr. The Isuzu is what I have my heart set on for my conversion. The man that I got my coach from runs a generator repair shop in Il. He spoke highly of them. If you want to talk to him I can give you his phone no. If anyone finds a better price than Central Maine Diesel I would like to know about it. Later, Ed. |

I can't give u a lot of detail, but I have a 6.5 Northern Pro powered by an Isuzu 3 cyl., purchased from Central Maine last summer. Have not put it into service yet (just now building the surround compartment for it) I changed the skids to lower it 3". I test run it on a dolly for about an hour after I got it, was very smooth and speed was constant; there was no fluctuation in Hz of the electric output using a digital meter. Fairly quiet, It measured 61 db at 7' with my meter, no surround casing. I think the 10kw has the same engine. A very well built unit and I could not find a cheaper one new. |

Anyone know anything about the Coliseum generator end? Central Maine Diesel says: “The Isuzu Powered Diesel Generator features a 120/240 V Coliseum generator end. The generator end is rated for continuous use and is comparable in quality with the Isuzu engine. The generator end features a one year warranty. The generator end's warranty would be honored with most generator and/or electric motor shops.” Peter |
