Would anybody have a CR part # for a drive axle wheel seal for my MC9? I have a rockwell # of A-1205-M-1625 that doesn't seem to be doing me any good

Thanks

I assume you took that seal number to a NAPA and see if they could cross the number

I just did some searching with no results either. I would contact Luke in New Jersey.also have the dimensions when you call. The number may have been changed several times since it was MFG. Run into this on the GMC's frequently.

The drive axle seal on my MC-8 is 45010 from CR. I have replaced 3 so far, do not know why 1 cracked at about 2200 miles, but both still ok. Oh my tag axle bearings failed due to rust, this bus sat for about 6 years as oil lubed. When I got the bus I replaced the front and drive axle bearing/races an seals and greased them, now the tag is packed also.

Wow that's a lot of work to go to. Well I took it apart myself again last night as the shop is a weeks wait and that is getting WAYYYY to close to holiday time to be messing with something of this nature. Upon removing and cleaning the hub, again I noticed the bearing race or cup has some wear. The metal is actually damaged in a couple of spots. So I will post the timken parts #'s for a drive axle wheel bearing and race on my 1984 MC9, they are as follows, bearing 749A, and the A does matter, and the race is a 742. These puppies are hard to find.

Thanks for the CR# Ralph it will work on my mc9 as well.

When replacing bearings always do both inner and outer and races, CAUSE you must try to see the bearing surface under the rollers that surface is usually as bad or worse. Oh I had to order all my bearings and wait. The other bearing has been running in the debree(metal particals) of the bad one. OH on the CR seal you need to put drops of oil IN seal, it rotates inside it's self (2 cardon surfaces). It does NOT turn on the axle housing nor in the wheel hub.
