Te usual concept of how to combine the house and starts while charging is a rotary switch , electric transistorized gadget or solenoid. My solution for simplicity is usually the key switch and solenoid. The DC refrigerator folks installed a tiny V sensor , that simply turns on the fridge when charging V is seen. Seems these folks have modernized a simple solenoid with the same concept. Cole Hersee 48525 or 48530. Sure would make it quicker to install. BUT its high grade marine , so may be big $$$. FF |

12V only? Probably as the boats with 24V/48V are usually larger and use more complex systems, BUT this is a new product so the 24V model may be right behind! FF |

The tech info implies that the start batts can also be charged from shore/gen power, but I didn't see any explanation of how that might work. Looks like a nice item - if it were 24V. |

but I didn't see any explanation of how that might work. Looks like a nice item - if it were 24V. My guess would be that if either batt is above a "charge" voltage 13.2? or so the unit will close the solenoid. Fully seamless, solar, running , power pole , or noisemaker, still a bit pri$y tho. FF |

Dick (Wrico) sells the Sure Power units, available from many sources. Xantrex has also made a similar product, available in 12 or 24 volts, for many years, called the PathMaker. -Sean http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com |

Looks like there are lots of ways to avoid running a single wire from the ACC terminal on a key switch. Co$t vs simplicity , lots of choices to create "your way" FF |
