That's great to hear Jack. The buses will be racing there again this year. Should be a blast! |

Thank you to the three organizing amigos: Marty, Bob and Ed! There ended up being somewhere mid 20's worth of coaches and some bum sleeping in an old Suburban. Lots of repairs, adjustments, and investigations that put less experienced minds at ease. These just might be some of the good reasons for folks to get themselves to a rally, where there's LOTS of friendly knowledge, tools and helping hands. Off the top of my head: There was quite an amazing amount of coach electrical troubleshooting work accomplished at this rally. Mostly, sorting out the troubles that would trip GFI breakers on several coaches. A bit of melted wire in one coach, one of the conclusions arrived at is that consulting about complex switch gear via the telephone does have its limits. (As does consulting via the internet!) And that discovering you are running 3 roof airs via that size wire... priceless! A late evening arrival that plugged in, thought the plug was dead, changed to another plug... tripped out the sleeping neighbours Roll Eyes ( no harm, no foul, but it was pretty funny!) A fuel pump in a toad that needed the tank smacked to start. A loose bolt on an 8V92 letting coolant weep. A small air leak in an engine room regulator and associated fittings detected on the way to solving the every 20 minutes cycling of the aux electric air compressor A small plastic airline that popped out of its fitting in an engine room on the driveway during departure. Many club dues were paid up, the treasurers of both GLCC and CCO went away happy! Having banned the rowdy snowman from attendance this year, the late night drunken carousing seemed to be subdued in equal measure, and the campsite was much cleaner in the AM. Either that or it had something to do with the folks from Wisconsin staying away? Clio, Michigan? I don't know 'nuthin. happy coaching! buswarrior |

BW It was the first time we attended the "Back to the Bricks Rally" and what a great time was had by all. Even the bum in the suburban. With all the problems solved it sure made it worth while for some to come to this outing. You get a real satisfaction from helping a fellow bus nut. We even made it across the border with all our garage sale items. Hope we are free next year to once again attend this rally and maybe the school buses will race next time. Bill |
